Paragraph of A Rickshaw Puller
A rickshaw puller is the most familiar
figure throughout the country. He is a person who pulls the rickshaw and
carries passengers from place to place for earning his living. Generally he
comes from a low class of illiterate people. Most of the rickshaw pullers don’t
have their own rickshaws. So a rickshaw puller rents a rickshaw from a lender
in exchange of a certain amount of money. He gets up early in the morning and
goes down in the street with his rickshaw. He usually plays near public place
like schools, colleges, office, parks, bus stand, train station, parks and so
on. He spends the whole day in the streets, carrying people from one place to
another. For this he has to ignore scorching heat of summer, the freezing rain
of the monsoon and the biting cold of winter. When the weather is adverse his
demand as well as his fare goes up very high. Pulling the rickshaw up to late
night, he goes to his lender and pays him the rental fare. For this reason, he
fails to meet even the basic needs of him and his family. His job is very
risky. Especially in the cities very often trucks, buses and cars run over his
rickshaw with casually, causing great damage to the rickshaw. Sometimes the
pullers lose their lives in case of serious accidents. A rickshaw puller doesn’t
earn enough to lead a well-off life. As he earns from hand to mouth, so he and
his family starve if he cannot go to work. But we should remember that he is an
honest and hard working fellow. So we should change our attitude to him so that
he can lend his life with dignity.
